Keyword Audit

THIS MONTH
LAST MONTH

Keyword rankings were more mixed this month, with the site’s average position moving from 15.20 to 17.34. Of the 67 tracked keywords, 16 moved up, 33 moved down and 18 remained unchanged. Despite the drop in average position, overall search visibility actually broadened: the number of keywords ranking in the Top 10 increased from 10 to 12, Top 100 rankings increased from 45 to 48, and the number of keywords not ranking at all dropped from 8 to just 3.

There were also several strong individual gains, including “duct cleaning Gloucester” reaching #2, “air vac services” moving to #12, “air vents cleaning near me” reaching #13, and “airflow balancing Ottawa” reaching #17. Branded searches such as “Power Vac of Ottawa” and “Power Vac Ottawa” continue to hold the #1 position.

Technical SEO Audit

THIS MONTH
LAST MONTH

Power Vac continues to maintain an excellent technical foundation, with an On-Page SEO Score of 100 and only one minor issue identified across 129 crawled pages.

With the new AI-backed website and development workflow now in place, we should be able to pinpoint and eliminate technical SEO issues much more quickly as they appear. This will make it easier to keep the site technically clean, audit large sections of the site at once, and adapt faster as Google continues to evolve its search and AI-driven ranking systems.

Site Update and Fixes

Website Rebuild, SEO & Technical Updates Completed This Month
Update Details Impact
Complete Website Rebuild Rebuilt the Power Vac website from the ground up, replacing the previous WordPress installation with a faster, custom-built website and Node.js backend. Creates a cleaner, faster and more flexible technical foundation while reducing dependence on WordPress plugins and legacy code.
Content & Page Migration Migrated and rebuilt the approved service pages, company pages, contact content and blog articles into the new website structure. Preserves existing organic search value while giving important pages a more consistent design, structure and user experience.
Legacy Page Cleanup Removed outdated, unnecessary and duplicate WordPress pages and archives that were no longer required on the new site. Reduces index bloat and keeps Google's focus on the strongest and most relevant pages.
301 Redirects Added permanent 301 redirects for legacy URLs that were replaced, consolidated or removed during the rebuild. Helps preserve existing backlinks and rankings while preventing visitors and search engines from landing on outdated URLs.
Google Analytics 4 Added Google Analytics tracking to the rebuilt site and integrated it directly into the new production setup. Ensures website traffic, engagement and future conversion activity can continue to be measured after the migration.
reCAPTCHA Spam Protection Added Google reCAPTCHA v3 protection to the new contact form, including server-side verification before enquiries are processed. Helps block automated spam submissions while keeping the form experience seamless for legitimate visitors.
Contact Form & Email Delivery Rebuilt the contact form and connected it directly to authenticated SMTP email delivery, including primary and BCC routing. Provides a more reliable enquiry process without relying on WordPress form plugins or PHP mail delivery.
Technical Link Audit Audited internal links, navigation links, buttons, calls-to-action and page references throughout the rebuilt website and corrected broken or outdated destinations. Improves usability, crawlability and internal linking while reducing the risk of visitors encountering broken paths.
SEO Infrastructure Rebuilt technical SEO elements including page titles, meta descriptions, canonical URLs, robots.txt, XML sitemap and search-engine indexing controls. Gives search engines a cleaner and more predictable site structure while improving control over crawling and indexing.
AI-Assisted Auditing & Automated Deployment Connected the new website to an AI-assisted development workflow and automated deployment system, allowing updates to be tested, audited and deployed more efficiently. Makes it much faster to identify technical SEO issues, audit large sections of the website, bulk-edit content and adapt the site as Google continues evolving its search and AI systems.

Next Steps and Strategies

Power Vac’s technical SEO remains very strong, so the next stage is about making the website more adaptable, measurable, and responsive to changes in search.

One of the main reasons we moved away from WordPress to a custom AI-backed platform is so we can react much faster as Google continues changing how search works, particularly with AI-driven results, entity signals, mentions, and evolving ranking factors. Instead of being limited by plugins and legacy systems, we can audit, update, test, and deploy changes across the site very quickly as new SEO strategies emerge.

The new platform will also give us a much clearer view of how visitors actually use the website. We’ll be able to monitor traffic, button clicks, form submissions, page engagement, and other user interactions in one place. That should give us better data for understanding user behaviour, identifying conversion opportunities, and making more informed decisions about future SEO and website improvements.
